In a recent survey we interviewed IT leaders in the UK to find out the future direction of SD WAN and SASE projects and the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on prioritisation.
67% of surveyed organisations will have deployed SD WAN by summer 2022.
But, many still prefer separate vendors for routing, firewall and/or WAN optimisation.
94% of survey respondents were SASE aware, but the market appears unclear of it’s relationship to SD WAN.
54% are prioritising improvements on visibility and security for home workers and cloud infrastructure.
51% are looking to reduce management overhead and cost.
Since the pandemic, priorities have changed to accelerate SD WAN and SASE adoption in some key areas.
1 in 4 organisations are looking to migrate applications to the cloud.
45% of our respondents stated that they prefer the centralised security and single point of entry offered by MPLS
Lack of skills and management complexity is a barrier to adopting SD WAN.
50% are prioritising projects to improve application performance.
